Emily Frank, AbbVie Canada

Emily Frank is an Anthropologist currently working in the Oncology space for biopharma. She holds a PhD in cultural anthropology from Indiana University. Emily is currently interested in the ways in which the cultural narratives of treatment, illness and the pharmaceutical industry shape and inform healthcare options and experiences for us all. Emily has conducted extensive research on citizenship, identity and HIV/AIDS in Sub Saharan Africa, obesity and identity in the US and the ways in which concomitant advances in medicine and military technology have shaped understandings of treatment goals and outcomes in today’s world.
